Hartpury maintains prestigious accreditation for careers and employability support

Hartpury University and Hartpury College have successfully maintained their Matrix Standard accreditation, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to delivering high-quality Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to further and higher education students.

The nationally recognised Matrix Standard, awarded by the Department for Education (DfE), is a key quality benchmark for organisations providing careers, employability and skills support. Maintaining accreditation demonstrates that IAG is embedded throughout the entire student journey at Hartpury, from pre-entry and enrolment through to graduation and beyond.

The assessment process involved extensive engagement across the Hartpury community, with 64 individuals interviewed, including 25 students, three industry partners and 36 members of staff. The assessment team provided highly positive feedback on the quality, consistency and impact of IAG services, particularly highlighting the strong support offered to both FE and HE learners.

The accreditation recognises excellence across leadership, resources, service delivery and evaluation, reinforcing Hartpury’s culture of continuous improvement and student-centred support.

The Matrix Standard is significant for Hartpury as it:

·       Confirms the high quality and integrity of its careers and student support systems

·       Strengthens institutional performance, with high-quality IAG supporting positive student outcomes

·       Provides a competitive advantage in attracting students and developing employer and industry partnerships

·       Supports success in securing external funding and investment.

Claire Whitworth, Principal of Hartpury College, said: “Maintaining our Matrix Standard accreditation is a significant achievement for Hartpury and reflects the dedication and expertise of our Employability, Skills and Careers team, who provide exceptional independent support, advice and guidance to our students, complemented by the industry expertise of our academic staff.

“High quality information, advice and guidance is central to our mission, ensuring every student is supported to make informed decisions, develop employability skills and progress confidently into further study or their chosen career.”
